On November 6 , 2024 , Ukraine's Supreme Lada issued resolution 3947-IX , revising some laws and regulations involving food safety. The resolution was approved on September 4 , 2024 and will take effect from the date of publication, and will be It will be implemented one year from the date of publication. The main revisions include:
( 1 ) Amend the Milk and Dairy Act to add "including vegetable fats, oils" after "non-dairy sources" in the second part of Article 6 ;
( 2 ) Revise the "Basic Principles and Requirements on Food Safety and Quality" to add the definition of trans fatty acids. If the content of trans fatty acids in food exceeds 2g/100g of total fat, other food operators should be provided with food in Africa Information on the content of naturally occurring trans fats in animal fats, it is prohibited to use hydrogenated vegetable oils and palm stearicles in infant food production;
( 3 ) Revise the "Food Information About Consumers". If the product contains other animal fats other than cream, the use of names such as "chocolate" is prohibited. In food labels containing plant-based refined oil, the ingredients list should include "oil ” or “vegetable oil” must indicate the name of the plant it is from, and if the food ingredients contain hydrogenated fat or oil, the label must indicate “completely hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated”.
