Brazil plans to revise the limit standards for pollutants in food

   On November 1 , 2024 , the Brazilian National Health Supervision Agency ( ANVISA ) issued Consultation Document No. 1289 , intending to revise the limit standards for pollutants in food (i.e. Directive No. 160 of 2022 ). The specific content is to formulate the maximum limit of pollutants such as lead in some food categories , see the table below.

  The feedback period for the consultation document is as of December 24 , 2024 .
