South Korea has released a partial revision of the "Low-salt and low-sugar labeling standards" for comments, and plans to increase the applicable objects.

On September 20 , the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety ( MFDS ) of South Korea issued Announcement No. 2024-432 , which plans to modify part of the "Low-Salt and Low-Sugar Labeling Standards". The main contents are as follows :

  Added applicable objects: Dry noodles, lunch boxes, burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas are added to the products applicable to the low-salt labeling standard; castella cakes, cupcakes, waffles, pies, and ice cream are added to the products applicable to the low-sugar labeling standard. , ice milk , sherbet, ice fruit, coffee [ liquid coffee (only products containing dairy products) ] , lactic acid bacteria drinks.

The above opinion collection period ends on October 10 , 2024 .
