On August 6 , 2024 , the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Mongolia issued a notice to formulate " Technical and Trade Regulations on Milk and Dairy Products ".
The main contents of the draft regulations include the scope of applicable products (liquid milk, yogurt, milk powder, cream, cheese, whey powder, casein and other products produced in Mongolia and imported, including food for infants and young children), definitions and terms, raw milk quality requirements ( Milk collected from cows within 7 days of calving is prohibited from being used to produce milk and dairy products. The total number of bacterial colonies in raw milk for the production of milk and dairy products for infants and young children must not exceed 400,000cfu/mL , etc.), hygiene control requirements for milk and dairy products production processes, Different product processing technologies and key process limit value regulations, product packaging, labeling and transportation requirements, product sales requirements (licenses must be obtained when operating milk and dairy products in Mongolia), imported milk and dairy products management regulations (animal epidemics in the country of origin) The situation should comply with the relevant regulations of the World Organization for Animal Biology, and the production enterprise should comply with the requirements of technical specifications such as MNS CAC RCP 57 , etc.), product recall and destruction regulations, etc.
