On September 12 , 2024 , the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova issued consultation document No. 600/MAIA/2024 , proposing to revise the technical regulations for coffee, tea, chicory extracts and their derivatives (i.e. Government Decision No. 206/2009 ), feedback The period ends on September 29 , 2024 . The main revisions are:
( 1 ) Revise the definitions of coffee, liquid coffee, instant coffee, green tea and other products;
( 2 ) It is stipulated that the manufacturer of the product must keep traceability records, including the following content: raw material name, product batch and other information, as well as documents proving compliance with quality requirements; the manufacturer’s sensory characteristics, appearance, form, Labels and net content should be verified; product safety and hygiene indicators and laboratory sampling should be carried out according to the established independent control plan;
( 3 ) It is stipulated that the label of decaffeinated coffee products must contain the word "decaffeinated", in which the caffeine content shall not exceed 0.3% of the coffee content based on dry matter. ; If a new food contains more than 150mg/l caffeine (as is or after reconstitution), the following must be stated on the label: "High caffeine content, not recommended for consumption by children or pregnant or lactating women", warning Place it parallel to the name of the food, followed by the caffeine content expressed in mg/100mL .
