On December 24, 2024 , the Japanese Consumer Department issued an announcement to solicit opinions on partial revision of the " Food Labeling Standards " , and the feedback period ends on January 28 , 2025 . The main revisions are:

　　( 1 ) The provisions for the purpose of additives with nutritional enhancers that can be exempted from the marking and deleted;

　　( 2 ) Revise the "standard value of nutrients, etc.";

( 3 ) Revise the labeling regulations for individual categories of food. The proposed implementation time of the amendment is divided into the following three stages: the first stage is, the overall implementation date is April 1 , 2025 , but the revisions of the "Made Frozen Food" items in the 3rd , 4th , 19th , 20th and 22nd of the Appendix , will be implemented on April 1, 2026 ; the second stage is, the revisions of the above ( 1 ) ( 3 ) will be given a 5 -year transition period; the third stage is, some of the revisions in ( 2 ) will be given a 3- year transition period.
