On December 30, 2024 , the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety ( MFDS ) issued Announcement No. 2024-604 , intending to modify some of the contents of the "Standard for Labeling Food, etc.", the main contents are as follows:

1. It is allowed to paste self-adhesive stickers related to Korean labeling matters printed in foreign languages.

2. Add sugar, butter, animal processed food, etc. to products that mandatory nutrition labeling have been added.

3. According to some modifications to the Korean Code of Food Alimentarius and Food Additives Code, some of the contents of the "Standard for Labeling Food, etc." will be adjusted, and the language and definitions will be consistent.

4. Develop a food nutrition label format composed of raw primary agricultural and forestry products, livestock products, aquatic products and processed foods.

The above opinions are collected until February 28 , 2025 .
