On July 31 , 2024 , according to the Official Journal of the European Union, the European Commission issued regulations related to food health claims through Implementing Regulation ( EU ) 2024/2063 . The main content is to refuse to approve the addition of monacolin K in red yeast rice. of foods use health claims that "help maintain normal blood LDL cholesterol concentrations." The regulations will take effect on the 20th day after the announcement .
