On August 15 , 2024 , the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand ( FSANZ ) issued the official communiqué on the amendment No. 230 of the Australia and New Zealand Food Standards Code . The main revised standards are:

Schedule 26 Foods produced using genetic technology
The scope of application of these amendments is as follows:
A1261 - Increasing the maximum allowable energy of X- rays during food irradiation
A1281- Approval of genetically modified corn line DP910521 for food use
A1282 - Approval of subtilisin from genetically modified Bacillus subtilis as a processing aid
A1283 - Approval of 2′- fucosyllactose produced by genetically modified Corynebacterium glutamicum for use in infant formula
