    Dairy processing and quality control innovation team reveals the synergistic effect of polysaccharides-emulsifiers to enhance low-fat cream The mechanism of the effect of beating characteristics on emulsion stability

    The mechanism of the synergistic effect of polysaccharides and emulsifiers on the stability, rheology, and beating properties of low-fat cream emulsions was revealed, and the related results were published in the top international academic journal Food Hydrocolloids (JCR Zone 1, IF=11.0). Li Feng, a jointly cultivated master student by the Processing Institute and the Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University, was the first author of the paper, and Wang Yunna, an assistant researcher at the Processing Institute, and Liu Yanyan, an associate professor at the Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University, were the co-corresponding authors. This research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (32302137, 32372378) and the Milk Industry Technology Innovation Fund of China Milk Industry Association (CDIAKCJJ-TP-2024-006).

    According to the Official Journal of the European Union,on13thofFebruary,2025,the European Commission issued Regulation (EU)2025/276, which, in accordance with Council Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 According to the conditions specified in the attachment, this additive is authorized as a member of the category of "sensory additives" and the functional group of "flavoring compounds" for animal additives.     On February 4, 2025 , Indonesia issued a notice G/TBT/N/IDN/174/Add.1 through the WTO , reporting on the provisions that enterprises or institutions that have obtained halal certificates must paste halal marks on their products, and stipulates the halal label format for products certified by foreign halal certification agencies that have established mutual recognition and acceptance ( MRA ) with BPJPH ( Halal Certificate Authority for Indonesian Halal Products ) .

    EU approved UV-treated mealworm larvae whole powder to be launched on the market as a new type of food

    On January 21, 2025 , the European Commission issued the Implementation Regulations ( EU ) 2025/89 and revised the Attachment to the Implementation Regulations ( EU ) 2017/2470 , approving the full powder of the larvae treated with ultraviolet ( UV ) to be put on the market as a new type of food, and its uses include bread, cakes, pasta, processed potato products, cheese and jams. This Ordinance comes into force on the twenty days after its publication.

    On January 23 , 2025 , according to the official EU communiqué, the European Commission issued Regulation ( EU ) No. 2025/106 , approving the active substance Bacillus subtilis strain RTI477 as a low-risk substance. The approval period for   Bacillus subtilis strain RTI477 is February 12 , 2040 . This Regulation shall come into force on the 20th day from the date of its publication.
