On October 11 , 2024 , the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine revised honey requirements. This order takes effect six months after it is officially issued. Main content:

　　( 1 ) Terms and definitions. Revise multiple definitions of honey for confectionery, etc.;

　　( 2 ) Honey must meet the following characteristics and ingredient standards: It is prohibited to add other food ingredients, food additives or any substances other than honey to honey; it is prohibited to remove pollen grains and other inherent components of honey from honey;

　　( 3 ) On the label of honey used for confectionery products, next to its name should be stated: "Only suitable for food processing"; the honey label must contain information about the country of origin from which the honey was collected, or if the honey comes from more than one country. Indicate on the label the country of origin from which the honey was harvested and arrange it in descending order of weight, indicating the percentage contained in each country. A deviation of 5% is allowed for each ingredient ; if the number of countries of origin in the honey mixture exceeds four and the sum of the maximum four parts exceeds 50% of the mixture , it is allowed to indicate these countries of origin in the form of percentages and the remaining origins. The country of origin is arranged in descending order, and the content percentage does not need to be indicated; for packaging with a net honey content of less than 30 grams, the name of the country of origin can be replaced by an alphabetical code in accordance with international standards.
