On December 16, 2024 , the Eurasian Economic Commission announced that the revised version of the "Technical Regulations on Oil Products" will be officially implemented from December 22 , 2024 , which will be adopted by Resolution 149 adopted by the Council of the Committee on December 12 , 2023 .

　　The new regulations clarify the definition, labeling requirements, production and transportation processes of food and fat products, especially the transportation tools for bulk transport of fat products and allowed and prohibited pre-cargo goods, and require that vegetable oil transported in bulk through water must be mandatory processing to ensure product safety.

　　In addition, starting from January 1, 2025 , regulations will regulate the content of glycerol fatty acid esters in food oil and fat products to reduce their negative health impact. This is the first time that mandatory limits are set for this technical pollutant within the Eurasian Economic Union. For a smooth transition, the new regulations set a 12 -month transition period, allowing the production and circulation of grease products in accordance with the old standards during this period, ensuring orderly connection between the market and production links.
