Moldova plans to formulate new food regulations

   On November 14, 2024 , the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova plans to formulate new food regulations , and the feedback period is as of November 27 , 2024 . Main content:

  ( 1 ) Range. Excluding genetically modified foods, additives, etc.;

  ( 2 ) definition;

  ( 3 ) Listing requirements. Only new foods listed on the list are allowed;

  ( 4 ) New food authorization procedures. The name and address of the applicant; the name and description of the new food; the production process description; the detailed ingredients of the new food; scientific evidence to prove that the new food does not have safety risks to human health; analysis methods; usage conditions and specific label requirements, etc.;

  ( 5 ) The responsibilities of the competent authorities, etc.;

  ( 6 ) It is planned to adopt the EU's new food list. For example: The use requirements for many new foods such as N- acetyl -D- neuramine. Some of the contents are shown in the following table.
