On September 24 , 2024 , the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture issued Order No. 3D-676 to revise the quality requirements for cream and cream products, which will be implemented from September 25 , 2024 . Main content:
( 1 ) The scope of application is cream and its products ( CN codes 0401 and 0403 );
( 2 ) Raw materials used to make cream and cream products must meet regulatory standards and have food safety and quality approval documents;
( 3 ) Dairy products made from milk or whey containing at least 35% milk protein, thickeners or stabilizers can be added, with a maximum usage limit of 20g/kg ;
( 4 ) Labeling regulations. Sour cream and its products should be labeled with fermentation strains; cream and cream products produced from reconstituted milk should be labeled with "reconstituted cream"; the heat treatment method used must be labeled; the fat content must be labeled in mass percentage.
