According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on September 13 , 2024 , the European Commission issued Regulation ( EU ) No. 2024/2464 , in accordance with Regulation ( EC ) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council , approving the rosin essential oil extracted from maritime pine ( pine white essential oil from Pinus pinaster Aiton ) as a feed additive for all animals.

According to the conditions specified in the annex, this additive is authorized as an animal additive in the category "sensory additives" and in the functional group "flavoring compounds". The authorization end date is October 3 , 2034 . These Regulations shall take effect on the twentieth day from the date of promulgation.
