According to the Official Gazette of the European Union, on September 10 , 2024 , the European Commission issued Regulation ( EU ) No. 2024/2385 , approving 4- methyl -5- ethylene in accordance with Regulation ( EC ) No. 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council. 4 -methyl-5-vinylthiazole is used as a feed additive for all animals .

　　According to the conditions specified in the annex, this additive is authorized as an animal additive in the category "sensory additives" and in the functional group "flavoring compounds". The authorization end date is September 30 , 2034 . These Regulations shall take effect on the twentieth day from the date of promulgation.
