2025Year7July14the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines issued2025-004announcement, setting standards for larger infant formula milk and infant products, which shall take effect 15days after it is published in the Official Gazette. Specific content:
(1) Scope and definitions, definitions related to follow-on formula milk for older infants;
(2)Guidelines for follow-up formula milk for older infants, which stipulate the standards for the addition of energy, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and taurine, DHA, choline, inositol and other substances, and all substances shall not be irradiated. Seasoning shall not be added;
(3)specifies the limit of pollutants in accordance with the General Standards for Pollutants and Toxins in Food and Feed (cxs193-1995); sanitary conditions comply with the General Hygienic Standards for Food (CXC1-1969), Hygienic Operation Specifications for Infant Formula Milk Powder, etc.;
(4) Label requirements. Health claims for infant formula milk products are prohibited, and the source of protein must be clearly stated on the label; (5) Transition provisions. Products that have obtained a product registration certificate (CPR) and have an expiration date within five years of the effective date of this order shall submit a new registration application under this order after the registration expiration date; the original product label allows a sales time of six months.
