On October 28 ,  2024 , the Australian Federal Gazette published Notice No. F2024L01376 , revising the sugar content claim requirements on food labels (i.e. approving Proposal P1063 ), which will take effect from the date of publication. Main content:

( 1 ) Use the new sugar definition to replace the existing sugar definition in the original requirement annotation; and delete the annotation in the sugar definition;

( 2 ) Revise the relevant claims about sugar and no added sugar, stipulating that if there is no added sugar in the food ingredients or the sugar content of solid food is ≤ 10g/100g or the sugar content of liquid food is ≤ 7.5g/100ml , you can claim that the food is not sugary. Add sugar.
